Every year since its humble beginnings in 2008, independent record stores all across the nation have had their very own special day set aside to promote and celebrate the ever increasing eclectic industry. That day is called “Record Store Day,” and if you are not familiar with it now, let me take the honors. For those who love music as much as I do and have even gone as far as owning a record player, this day is for you.
Thousands of bands ranging from Summer Camp Music Festival artists such as Mudcrutch, Fishbone, Violent Femmes, and moe. (to name a few) have all taken part of this very special day within the music industry.
And this previous Record Store Day held on April 22nd I decided not to miss out. Why? Because I heard moe. was taking part in the fun by releasing a very special limited edition live press. A full length vinyl release of their show in San Francisco was to be worked in partnership with Duckvale Records on a really cool red and black splatter pressing. Limited to a numbered 1500.
So I grabbed number 1164.
The quality is AMAZING and I couldn’t ask for more from the guys.
Well worth it addition to the the collection and I highly recommend stopping by your local record to see if they still have a copy. I know there are plenty on Ebay.
On another similar note,
Twiddle has a really AWESOME new release coming up on April 28th!!!
Their 2015 release of “PLUMP” has made it to the next chapter which includes a limited edition triple LP tie-dye orange vinyl of “PLUMP“ Chapters 1 & 2. Each vinyl is individually made, making each a unique pattern.
Here’s a link to the release!
